So the other day Mum and I were strollin’ through TK Max when I stumbled upon this beauty… A dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette… For £6.99…That’s right, you heard me… £6.99!!!! I’ve been eyeing up the Naked 3 for soooooo long now and even more so recently as I’m (heartbreakingly) coming to the end of my Naked 2. Admittedly, I’ve been avoiding making the purchase due to not wanting to part with the cash for it but when I saw this I couldn’t walk away from it, it seemed too much a perfect opportunity to leave behind. It is by Bella Pierre Cosmetics and is the XII Go Natural Palette.

Although there is an obvious lack of pinky tones in comparison to the Naked 3, you cannot argue there isn’t a strong resemblance between the colour palette. This palette is a touch darker and slightly more golden than the Naked 3, but for £6.99 beggars can’t be choosers eh? Unlike the Naked palettes where each shade is strongly pigmented, the first few shades aren’t so. This could be down to the fact that they’re matte shades and perhaps need more building because O-M-G(!!!!) the rest of the glittery shades are STUNNING. The pigmenting in them is a solid 10/10 and the colours are beautiful! I wore a combination of the colours yesterday for V-Day and they stayed on all day which is awesomeeeeeee. I 10/10 recommend you this palette, it’s brill and if you’ve been eyeing up the Naked 3 like me but not willing to pay up, defo look into getting one of these bad boys.

I feel like V-Day is a tricky one to buy for and I’m always turning to gift guides for help when I’m stuck trying to think up present ideas for some one. So, I thought I would join in and share with you five items that I know your loved one will… well… love!

1.) Perfume

I feel like this is such a classic, go-to, Valentines Day gift… But who doesn’t love a new perfume? This is my all time favourite perfume, it smells a-m-a-z-ing! A timeless gift that definitely won’t go unappreciated.

2.) Lipstick

Another beauty product, but this one has the potential to be a little bit more of a risky purchase… I love being bought makeup, especially lipsticks. Although it may seem like a materialistic item, I think lipsticks can be quite personal if you really take the time to think about what would suit your GF. If however, you are totally lost, one of my faves is “See Sheer” which is a laaaavley pinky shade that is really glossy. OR… Sticking with the red theme of valentines day “Ruby Woo” is a really pop-y red that looks great on all skin tones allllllll year round.

3.) Jewellery

Bracelets are always a great gift to get, I actually got this one from Ruben last year for Valentines Day and I loveeeee it. Simple, dainty bracelets are my fave. I believe this one is from Brandy Melville but Lisa Angel are usually great for pretty, little bracelets and a lot of the time they have the option to personalise them and make them that little bit more special.

Earrings are also a great gift to receive as they aren’t something you always think to buy yourself, so it’s nice when someone surprises you with some. I like to go to local, smaller shops to get my earrings instead of well known, high street shops as I know the earrings there will be more unique as not everyone is going to have them, giving them that “extra special” factor.  I feel like earrings are something that are really hard to get wrong so you should be safe with this one.

Last but not least…

4.) Underwear

This bralet is from Boux Avenue and I think it is absolutely gorgeous! Any girl I’m sure would appreciate some nice underwear! Boux Avenue is my go-to place for pretty undies and it’s not overly priced like shops like Victorias Secret. Obviously you could opt for some of their adorable PJs too which range from beautiful silk shorts to cosy, fluffy trousers. They even wrap it up for you – Bonus!

I loveloveloveeeeeee this jumper, it’s totally stolen my heart. Not only is it super cosy and warm it’s suuuuch a pretty colour too.

The sleeves are probs my favourite thing about the jumper. I am obsessed(!!!) with the chunky, ribbed knit.. I think it really makes the jumper stand out and it’s so different to any other jumper I own/have seen and I just think it’s the coolest thing.. Ever…

I think this is going to lNot my typical go-to grey number (shocker) it’s a gorgeous, vibrant, red that’s perfect for brightening up these gloomy february days…

Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

I have been searching for the perfect faux leather skirt for what feels like foreverrrrrrrr now and Asos happened to have one that ticks all the boxes so of course I had to get it.

Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

I am in love with this skirt, it’s soooooooooo comfy! I feel like a faux leather skirt is a wardrobe must-have as it can be worn either dressed up or down.

Today I decided to dress it up with a gingham blouse from Miss Selfridge but I think it would look great with an oversized grey tshirt or jumper as well.

Lets talk earrings… These are my faves right now, they are from a little shop in Norwich called Boujangles which is my go-to place for earrings at the moment.

I couldn’t not mention my trusty River Island bag. I have worn this bag nonstop for the last two years and despite recently buying two new bags I’m still having trouble parting from it…

When it comes to looking after my skin the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish has been my number one since day one. I remember Mum introducing it to me back in high school when the dreaded spots started to kick in and its been my holy grail of skin care ever since.

I got a Liz Earle gift set for christmas and have been absolutely loving my skin care routine at the moment so I thought I would share it with you…

Firstly, I use my Cleanse & Polish to free my face from all my makeup and any gerneal yucky-ness that I may of picked up on my face throughout the day. What I love about this cleanser is that it really does take off every last bit of your makeup, waterproof mascara? Not a problem! Stubborn liquid lipsticks? You guessed it… Not a problem! After I’ve massaged it into my face I take my muslin cloth and wipe (polish) all of the cleanser away and am left with refreshed, clean and glowing skin.

If I’m feeling fancy and have some spare time in the evening I’ll then apply the Intense Nourishing Treatment Mask. You leave this on for around 10-15 minutes and then wipe off with your muslin cloth. As I’ve got quite dry skin I always feel as though my face feels so much healthier and softer after I’ve used this, I love it.

Last but not least, the Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This is my ultimate favourite part of my skin care routine purely because it smells soooooooo nice. You just pour a little bit onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face to give yourself that “radiant looking skin” as promised on the bottle.

1.) Write more blog posts.

  • I mean I think I’ve been pretty good with uploading posts on a regular basis but from now on I’m going to take this more seriously and aim to write one blog post a week (or at least try to).

2.) Work out more.

  • I decided it was about time I did a little bit of exercise in order to balance what my mum likes to call my pizza addiction. I’ve found a good few workout routines on Youtube that I like to use so maybe I’ll write a post on that if thats something you’re interested in…

3.) Learn to drive!!

  • I cannot express how desperate I am to drive and how annoyed I am that I didn’t learn when I turned 17!!! This year is definitely the year for learning.

4.) Travel more.

  • This year I really want to see more of the world. After being in New York back in October I’ve been desperate to go and explore somewhere else. My new obsession where I’d like to visit next is Rome, I think the city looks so beautiful. I’d also love to go back over to America and visit my Grandad in North Carolina, my mum and I loved it there when we went in 2015.

5.) Take more photos and make more videos.

  • This is something I really enjoy doing and wish I did more of, hopefully I can incorporate this into my travelling.

And finally…

6.) Be braver.

  • I’ve spent years holding back from doing things because I’m worried about what people might say or think about me but I’ve realised that I actually don’t care. As long as I enjoy what I’m doing and I’m happy thats all that matters.

Happy new year everyone!

DSC_0168.JPGTis’ the season for swapping out the pinker shades and replacing them with some warm reds and deep berry tones. I’ve recently discovered a serious lack of these ‘wintery’ shades in my makeup collection and decided it’s about time that I invested in a few.  dsc_0235My first discovery was a Rimmel London lipstick from the Kate Moss 15th anniversary Range. Initially this caught my eye due to its beautiful rose gold packaging that I must admit I absolutely LOVE. This lipstick glides straight onto your lips making it so easy to apply which is so great for those times where you’re rushing out the door and don’t have time to faff over your lippy making sure it’s perfect. The shade I’ve gone for is no.53 ‘Retro Red’ and it’s this lovely vintage shade with a slight purple tone. The colour really makes your lips pop and compliments my pale completion perfectly.dsc_0248When I finished work the other day I was passing by MAC so I thought I would go in and see if I could find any lipsticks that tickled my fancy… I ended up finding about six lipsticks that I was IN LOVE with but managed to restrict my self and walk out with just two. The first being ‘Spice It Up’, a shade I would consider more of a  pinky, berry red rather than a deep red. Again, this lipstick just glides over your lips and leaves a lovely glossy (but not too shiny) finish. dsc_0239Last but not least I have ‘Diva’. This is definitely a lipstick that I naturally wouldn’t go for but I thought it was about time I stepped outside of my comfort zone and tried something new. It’s a very deep, berry red that is sooooooooooooo pigmented and admittedly quite hard to apply without extreme caution as it gets everywhereeeee. The plus side of this is that if you do manage to get in on perfectly without smudging it, it can last ages on your lips without you having to top it up throughout the day (or night). I’ve had to ease myself into this one, wearing it around the house a couple of times and I have to say I’m really starting to dig it. It contrasts really well with my blue eyes and once again, compliments my pale complexion – win win!

UPDATE: Youtube Channel

Hellooooooo there, just a quick one tonight…

I’ve decided I’m going to start uploading content onto YouTube as well as on here. Next year I’ll be studying journalism at university and I was thinking if I can’t put myself out there then how am I supposed to compete? Not just this but I actually really enjoy filming and editing so I hope you enjoy the videos I produce!

My first video is now live and it’s a sort of montage of footage from Ruben and I’s walk around Thorpe Marshes. – check it out 🙂

OOTD: 10/12/2016

dsc_0137I’m a massive fan of the jumper and jumpsuit combo at the moment and this has very quickly become my go-to outfit. Whether I’m out in the city shopping with friends or going on a lunch date with Ruben I can guarantee this is what I’ll be wearing. DSC_0201.jpgToday the jumper I’ve paired with my trusty Newlook jumpsuit is from Zara (what a surprise). The monochrome colour scheme of this outfit I think make it seem a lot more sophisticated and classy, I feel like it almost gives the outfit a more “dressed-up” feel.dsc_0160Obviously, I couldn’t not wear my BEAUTIFUL bomber jacket that I got in New York with this outfit. This jacket is probably my favourite purchase I made in NYC and I have discovered a very strong love for American Eagle. I am obsessed the embroidery on the jacket, I have always shied away from bomber jackets as I though they looked to manly on me but I feel like the embroidery gives it a really feminine touch.dsc_0156Over the last few months I’ve also been really into layering necklaces. The heart and stone ones are from Topshop and the flower/wing one is Pandora. My ring was a gift from Ruben that he got in London, I really like the swirly design of it I think it’s really cool and unique.dsc_0242Jade x

The large amount of people sleeping rough on the streets of New York City was something I would actually consider heart-breaking. It made me so sad to see so many people in that unfortunate position, for such a variety of reasons.

The Bowery Mission has a whole article talking in depth about the amount of homeless people in New York, however it’s the statistics at the beginning of the article that really stand out to me.  “In a city of 8.5 million people, more than 58,000 homeless men, women and children sleep in homeless shelters and at least 3,100 more sleep on the streets and subways in the dead of winter.  This means that one in every 147 New Yorkers is currently homeless.”

I cannot imagine what it must be like to be living on the streets especially in the freezing conditions in the winter, the fact that some people have to go through that due to reasons that are out of there hands I think is horrifying. I feel so much sympathy for these people and it really does upset me that there isn’t anything that I can do to help them.

It’s the little things that count and I hope that my little action was one that counted. After a meal at Gallagher’s on our last night we got our food boxed up to give away to the homeless. One guy that I spoke to was one that I’d walked past every day, he had signs explaining that he needed money to get a train to his brothers and a phone to get in touch with his family. Every night I would see him wrap himself up as best that he could in order to try and stay warm over night, this made me feel so so lucky to have a home (or hotel in this case) to go back to when the day was over. When I spoke to him he was so polite and grateful for the food and it was actually quite a sad moment. It seems impossible that such a friendly, young man could end up in that position so far from his family… But really it could happen to anyone.

Now I’m back in the UK I can’t stop thinking about the man that I spoke to and how sad it is that so many people are in that situation. The homelessness in England isn’t much better either, The Guardian released an article written by Emma Jackson revealing the shocking statistic that there has been a 40% increase of homelessness in London since 2011. Realistically there isn’t much I can do alone to help these people, I’m 18 and an unemployed student still at sixth form. The way I look at it though is that if everyone that reads this makes a little effort to help a homeless person, together we are making a difference.

So what can we do to make a difference?

Like I said it’s the little things that help. Have you gone out for a meal and have some food left on your plate? Get it boxed up and give it to a homeless person if you pass them on your way home. You could buy them a sandwich or something, a hot drink maybe. With winter upon us these people are going to be freezing outside, anything to warm them up I’m sure will be greatly appreciated. Have an old blanket you don’t want any more? Don’t throw it away, donate it! Even a smile goes a long way, think how it must feel having hundreds of people walking past you everyday and treating you like you’re invisible. So say hello, make a smile, make them feel like they exist.

Another thing that is really important to do and something I’ve only just come across is an app called Street Link. Here you can get help for a homeless person by giving their description and where you last saw them. These people are in desperate need of help and it doesn’t take long to fill out one of these reports, just think you could be saving someones life.

From now on I’m going to be making an effort to do as much as I possibly can for these people. Even though it may not seem much, I know that to them it means a lot. So as it gets nearer to Christmas, don’t forget about these people who have no one to look out for them and try to do something to benefit the lives of someone less fortunate as us.
