What a shocker – It’s another Urban Jungle post! But c’mon, with all the cake and cacti how could I resist?!
This time we skipped the savoury and went straaaaaight to the sweet. We shared a slice of lemon cake and millionaires short bread and once again, they really did not dissapoint.
Urban Jungle (if you couldn’t already tell) really is one of my fave places. Being surrounded by all the pretty plants is a dreaaaaaaam to me, I LAV IT!!!! I could quite literally spend allllllll my money in here, when I have my own house I wanna fill it with plants from here (RIP my bank balance). This lil beauty of garden centre is defo one of my happy places and really does make me feel “très joulie” (“very jolly” in French).
I have been loving(!!) over sized tshirts with a knot at the side atm, I’m not always a tshirt fan but I’m really digging this trend rn! This tshirt I actually got about a year ago from Whistles but I’m still absolutely loving it, it’s sooooooo soft and comfy!
I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my latest urban jungle adventures!
It’s finally (!!!) starting to feel like spring so of course I had to update my wardrobe and make a few cheeky lil’ orders online. The first of which is this jumpsuit that I’ve been eyeing up on ASOS for months (!!) now, impatiently waiting for it to come back into stock.
If you’ve read my OOTD post back in December then you will know just how OBSESSED I was (kinda still am) with my New Look jumpsuit. Any chance I got I would be wearing it, I might as well of slept in it – BUT now that summer is slowly approaching I feel as though I need a more “summery” alternative, and this ticks alllllllll the right boxes.
First of all, it feels sooooo light and comfy – perfect for a warm summers day. Not only this, but is super flattering too. This is the kinda jumpsuit that you can just throw on with a denim jacket, some tan sandals and sunnies and just have an instantly cute outfit. The only downside to this jumpsuit (and definitely something to bare in mind) is that it’s quite a sheer material and therefor you have to be – let’s say – slightly cautious with your underwear choice (lol).
It can’t be denied that my absolute FAVE thing about this jumpsuit is the beautiful embroidery at the bottom, the stitching looks so pretty and delicate – I love it(!!). What I really like about it though is the little –pop– of colour that the red flowers add to it, making it that little bit more interesting that most of my other go-to pieces in my wardrobe.
SUNGLASSES – JUMPSUIT
I can’t get enough of gingham atm, I’m obsessed.. I’d even go as far as to say that gingham has the potential to be my new stripes… I know… Wowza. If you’d read my leather skirt post awhile back, you will of seen the gingham blouse I bought from Miss Selfridge which I absolutely love and ngl it’s probably my most worn item in my wardrobe right now… Sooooooooo, before people get sick of the sight of my current one I thought it was about time I invested in a second and switched it up a bit.
This one is an ASOS own brand one and it is SO comfy. Maybe not a practical choice on a windy day as you can probably tell from the (extremely) windswept photos as it blows up 24/7 (cheers Doris) BUT I can feel this is going to become a staple piece in my wardrobe throughout spring and into summer.
The top has this really lovely cut out detail on the back, I think this is a really nice way to make the top a little more interesting.
Let’s talk jewellery – I’m a big fan of the leaf/hoop combo and this is what puts these earrings in my top 5 faves. I think they’re a great alternative to your typical hoop as they’re so dainty and detailed.
While the weather is still pretty chilly I’ve been pairing this with my leather jacket from Miss Selfridge and the bag I’m using was actually my mums that she was going to get rid of (she crazyyyyyyy) but I quickly nabbed it before she had the chance… I think it’s from Topshop but I’m not 100% sure. You can’t really tell from the photo but it has a really funky chain strap that’s just makes the bag look 10x cooler. Of course I couldn’t not be wearing my converse, but I do also really love wearing this outfit with my black ankle boots to make it look a bit less casual.
Some more gingham items I’m lusting over atm…
JUMPSUIT CO-ORD BLOUSE
I loveloveloveeeeeee this jumper, it’s totally stolen my heart. Not only is it super cosy and warm it’s suuuuch a pretty colour too.
The sleeves are probs my favourite thing about the jumper. I am obsessed(!!!) with the chunky, ribbed knit.. I think it really makes the jumper stand out and it’s so different to any other jumper I own/have seen and I just think it’s the coolest thing.. Ever…
I think this is going to lNot my typical go-to grey number (shocker) it’s a gorgeous, vibrant, red that’s perfect for brightening up these gloomy february days…
I have been searching for the perfect faux leather skirt for what feels like foreverrrrrrrr now and Asos happened to have one that ticks all the boxes so of course I had to get it.
I am in love with this skirt, it’s soooooooooo comfy! I feel like a faux leather skirt is a wardrobe must-have as it can be worn either dressed up or down.
Today I decided to dress it up with a gingham blouse from Miss Selfridge but I think it would look great with an oversized grey tshirt or jumper as well.
Lets talk earrings… These are my faves right now, they are from a little shop in Norwich called Boujangles which is my go-to place for earrings at the moment.
I couldn’t not mention my trusty River Island bag. I have worn this bag nonstop for the last two years and despite recently buying two new bags I’m still having trouble parting from it…
For weeks I had been racking my brain trying to come up with an outfit for my aunties wedding when I remembered I had this little gem hidden away at the back of my wardrobe.
I bought this dress from Joules years ago for a family friends wedding back in 2010 and despite it being a children’s age 13-14 it still fits! Most likely because I’ve probably grown about an inch in the last six years.
I paired it with some New Look camel coloured, lace up heels that I got in the sale for £15 (absolute bargain!) and a gold clutch bag that I used for prom.
